| Chani Scheepers won into the 2010 French Open through the qualifying rounds and has continued her hot start by defeating Mathilde Johansson 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round of the main draw. In her career, she has won 11 ITF singles titles and 19 doubles titles. 2010 marks her fourth season of WTT and her third with the Springfield Lasers. |

Chani Scheepers Blogs from the French Open Part I

 So, I've been in Paris for a week already. I really like Paris. I've been here a couple of times already and I'm always excited to come back every year. I came last Saturday to practice here before qualifying started on Wednesday. I won my first 2 rounds in 2 sets. In my last round of qualifying I turned it around just in time. I ended up winning it 46 76 60.
It was good to qualify for the French Open twice in a row. Last year I qualified and lost 1st round against Elena Dementieva. It was a good experience and I learned a lot. This year I drew Matilda Johansson from France 1st round. I ended up winning 62 64. I now have a couple of days off before my second round against Gisela Dulko.
