bRYAN BROTHERS To play two home matches for kansas city explorers
Bryan Brothers Band to perform charity concert at Power & Light District
KANSAS CITY, Mo, (May 10, 2010) --- The ATP Doubles Team of the Decade, Bob and Mike Bryan, will return to Kansas City this July for their sixth season with the Explorers.
Days after their win at the Rome ATP Tour event, which brought the twins within one title of matching the record for doubles tour titles, the Bryans signed on for another season with the Kansas City Explorers. This season the Bryans will be taking court twice for the Explorers, playing matches on Thursday, July 15 and Friday, July 16.
“It is an honor to have the Bryans represent the Explorers and Kansas City for another season,” said Explorers General Manager Jeff Launius. “By the time they come to Kansas City in July, they could claim the title of the greatest double team ever, so it is very exciting for our team and our fans to welcome them back.”
The Bryans will wrap up their trip to Kansas City by highlighting their skills off the court as they trade in their racquets for the drums and guitar for a charity concert at the Kansas City Power & Light District. The Bryan Brothers Band featuring David Baron will take the stage Saturday, July 17 playing songs from their debut album “Let It Rip.” The concert will benefit Camp Opportunity.
“The Bryans are such talented individuals, both on and off the court, and we are proud to showcase these talents to Kansas City,” said Launius.
The Bryan Brothers join the Explorers Roster Team drafted earlier this year. Jarmila Groth, the 2007 Female Rookie of the Year, will be returning to the Explorer’s lineup accompanied by her husband and rising Australian tennis star Sam Groth. Kveta Peschke, one of the world’s top-ranked doubles players returns for her third season with the Explorers. Rounding out the team is former Top 50 player, Ricardo Mello of Brazil.
The 2010 Explorers home season kicks off on Thursday, July 8 against the Sacramento Capitals. All Explorers home matches are played at Explorers Stadium, located on Barney Allis Plaza in downtown Kansas City. Matches begin at 7:35 p.m., with the exception of Sunday, July 18, which will begin at 6:35 p.m.
Season tickets are now available for $250 each for box seats and $140 each for grandstand seats. Individual tickets are on sale now. Individual ticket prices range from $15 to $50. Call the Explorers office at (816) 513-5630 or visit www.kcexplorers.com for more information.
